Boost Willpower with a Happy Gut


Let’s be honest. Willpower is stronger when we are feeling good. If you want to not only succeed but thrive- in your work, relationships, and even meditation practice, then health is critical.


After all, if you’re sick or not just not feeling good, then willpower drains. It gets more challenging to keep the promises we make to ourselves. That is why it is essential to invest in your health every day, and into building your immune system going into the winter months.


Did you know that a huge part of your immune system is located in your gut?


Researchers at John Hopkins University have discovered an interaction between the bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and the immune system. [1] We want to increase the types of species of good bacteria in our gut with prebiotics (more fiber intake) and probiotics (25-30 different plant-based foods per week and fermented foods containing live bacteria strains, like yoghurt.)[2]


Getting eight hours of sleep, exercising daily, resting once a day for 10 minutes deeply, and drinking enough water all also improve your gut health – and thus boost your immune system.[3]


Invest in these wellness habits to improve the health of your gastrointestinal tract, and your immunity, and BOOST that willpower. When you feel good, it is easier to flow with higher resolve toward your goals.
